Dance Information
Here at Dance Country we offer several line dance and partner dance classes sure to increase your confidence dancing! Whether you’re a seasoned dancer, just dance-curious, or anything in between, we welcome you. Many people take the same level multiple times and that is normal as there are so many dances to learn. The more you practice and dance the faster you will feel confident to advance! Where will you jump in? Check out our class options below!
Are you brand new to line dancing? There’s no experience necessary for this class!
Have you taken one or more of our beginner classes or danced elsewhere? If you’re confident with all of the basic line dance steps and able to dance beginner dances without depending on someone calling the steps or watching others around you, our Improver classes would be a good fit for you!
Are you able to pick up all Beginner dances on the fly and can learn more complicated dances at a quicker pace? Many (but not all) of the Improver and Intermediate dances taught overlap, but the pace of the teaching is faster in this class rather than in the Improver class.
It is highly recommended that you have taken at least one beginner line dance class first and have learned the basic steps. This makes learning partner dances much easier as you will need to add in the arm work and working with a partner. You don’t need to have a partner for our beginner class. Come and we will pair you up if needed!
If you are confident with all the line dance steps and able to execute the beginner partner dances, this class is for you! Partners needed for this class!

Event Information
In addition to classes, Dance Country is home to fun and exciting events like Trivia, Workshops, Potlucks, Live Music, Exclusive Classes, and more!
No need to be a trivia buff to play, so bring your team of up to 6 people, dinner, drinks and join us for a fun time with family and friends. No team, no worries- there are usually teams that are short players and you can jump onto one of them. We will provide a plate of homemade desserts to each table at the half.
Details:
Doors open at 5:30 and game starts around 6PM (usually ends about 8:30)
Cost is $10 a person
Game consists of 4 rounds of 4 questions each with a bonus questions in between each round and 2 at the end.
We have great prizes for the Best Team Name (so be creative) as well as 1st ($50), 2nd ($35) and 3rd ($25) in the form of a gift card to a local business in New London County.

Special Technique Workshop with Simone
West Coast swing and country swing workshop June 1 2024
•Simone, founder of Dance Together NYC, (https://dancetogethernyc.com/ ) will be here for a special dance technique workshop which will help all of us learn about body mechanics which will help with smoothing out turns and other dance steps…. This is for ALL line dance levels as well as pattern partner dancers. It’s worth your time to attend this no matter what level dancer you are. We may sneak in a dance or 2 to practice what we have learned!

West Coast swing and country swing workshop June 1 2024

Simone, founder of Dance Together NYC, (https://dancetogethernyc.com/ ) will be back for those wanting to continue learning West Coast Swing and Country Two Step.
Schedule and pricing per session:
- West Coast Swing 9:30 to 11:45
- Technique class 12:15 to 1:00 (teach of techniques that will help will all dance styles)
Country two step 1:00 to 3:15PM - $80 Full day 9:30AM to 3:15PM
- $45 AM only 9:30 to 1:00 (includes technique class)
- $45 PM only 1:00 to 3:15PM (includes technique class)
- $15 Technique class only
- Add in a private 30 or 60 minute lesson post workshop (style of your choice- see her website) $45/half hour, $90/ hour. Must reserve and pay for in advance.

Diandra Doble Performance July 13 2024
Bring your dinner, drinks and requests and enjoy an intimate acoustic concert with this talented Massachusetts sole vocalist. This will be her second concert at Dance Countryand she’ll be playing a variety of music from 60’s to current hits from 4 to 6PM (requests welcome). Then tables will be moved to open dance position. We will dance the first half hour to live music as Diandra sings to songs we line dance to. Regular open dance follows till 10PM.

Tickets Required $25/person (tables reserved for groups of 6 or more). Doors open at 3:30.

•**Feel free to bring a popup canopy for some shade as well as chairs and a cooler of your favorite drinks!** There will be chairs inside with AC on to cool off.
